Our Mission:
The goal of the Raices Cultural Arts Center is to foster the learning of cultural arts by providing a collaborative center for local arts organizations and individual artists. We hope to promote Creative and Artistic links between Cultures and to provide a supportive environment for the preservation and Celebration of Cultural Arts.
About our collective:
The RCAC was formed in 2005 through the joint efforts of local Artists who decided that they wanted to address the tremendous need for Dance space in the Sacramento Community. The Center currently has 6 resident dance companies that offer classes and performing groups. The RCAC shares space with resident artists with similar missions. This provides our family of artists the opportunity to collaborate on events, performances, and more. Our performance companies may be contacted individually for performances and class information. In addition, we collaborate on educational outreach in schools and events in the community.
What we offer:
The RCAC is the premiere place for Cultural Arts in South Sacramento. We house Professional Performing Companies for any venue or theater, we stage dance demonstrations and workshops for small venues or classrooms and offer dance instruction by the finest professionals in our area. We currently offer classes for children and adults in Ballet, Folklorico, Salsa, Mixed Latin Dance, Performance Techniques, Karate, Clogging, Aztec Dance, West African Dance and Spanish Language Courses. We offer space for artists at a reasonable price and rental space for meetings or celebrations.
Our Space:
Located in Sacramento off of Highway 99 and 47th Avenue, the RCAC boasts 2 dance rooms with parque wood floors, mirrored walls and surround sound. Our children’s playroom makes it easy for parents to attend classes while their kids draw, watch a movie or play. The center has free parking and easy freeway access.
